Our Story

In the fall of 1996, a diverse group of Fayette County citizens united to address a pressing question: how can the community better prepare its children for success in the global economy? Recognizing the need for essential skills and attributes, they formed the Association of Village Pride Inc (AVPRIDE). This initiative emphasizes collaboration, gathering local data to identify challenges faced by students from multicultural backgrounds. By forging strategic partnerships, AVPRIDE aims to enhance academic achievement, promote healthy behavior choices, and expand post-secondary opportunities for youth and their families.

Impact

Since its inception, AVPRIDE has positively impacted approximately 1000 youth and their families, providing invaluable community service hours and awarding 20 Audra Nicole Oliver Memorial Scholarships to deserving high school seniors.
