Our Story
The Association for the Study of Nationalities (ASN) was founded in 1972 by a group of émigré Ukrainian scholars, led by historian Stephan Horak. Over the years, ASN has evolved into the largest multidisciplinary international scholarly community dedicated to the study of nationalism and ethnicity. The flagship journal, Nationalities Papers, serves as a platform for high-quality research, while annual conventions foster collaboration among scholars worldwide.
