Our Story

The Association for Construction Career Development (ACCD) was established in 2007 by a dedicated team including Charmaine Foster-Flint, Bonnie Hall, and Dave Nelson. This initiative arose from the Arizona Construction Career Days (AZCCD) event, aiming to bridge the gap between students, teachers, and career counselors and the vast opportunities within the construction industry. With the guidance of mentor Humberto Martinez, ACCD has fostered public-private partnerships, engaging over 340 exhibitors and showcasing 400 pieces of equipment at its events, making it the largest construction outreach program for high school students in Arizona.

Impact

ACCD has provided invaluable hands-on construction experiences to high school students across Arizona, with schools traveling from as far as 300 miles to participate. This initiative not only promotes awareness of career opportunities but also inspires the next generation of construction professionals.
