Our Story

The Associated Kyoto Program was established in 1972 by a dedicated group of professors from various liberal arts colleges in the United States. This initiative aimed to create a unique study abroad program in Kyoto, Japan, emphasizing cooperation among institutions. Governed and managed by faculty members, AKP promotes a collaborative approach to education and cultural immersion.

Impact

For nearly 50 years, AKP has facilitated cultural exchange and education, allowing students to immerse themselves in Japanese culture through homestays, elective courses, and community engagement.
