Our Story

Established in 1990, the Asian Pacific Youth Leadership Project (APYLP) was founded by legislative staffers in California's state capitol to inspire Asian Pacific Islander youth to engage in community service and pursue leadership roles. The program has evolved to include a Mock Legislature, empowering students to develop public speaking and advocacy skills.

Impact

APYLP empowers Asian Pacific youth through leadership conferences, fostering confidence and community involvement. Notable alumni include Dan Nguyen-Tan, the first Asian American elected to the Chico City Council.
