Our Story

The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies, founded in 1994 by former Secretary Norman Y. Mineta and Delegate Robert Underwood, is dedicated to enhancing the political representation of Asian Americans and Native Hawaiians/Pacific Islanders. By fostering leadership and public policy knowledge, APAICS paves the way for these communities to engage in public service and elected office.
