In the summer of 2015, Ashley Marie Code, a bright student from Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans, was diagnosed with a malignant, inoperable brain tumor. Despite her courageous battle through radiation and chemotherapy, Ashley's journey ended on September 1, 2016, just before her 18th birthday. The Ashley Code Project was established to honor her dream of finding a cure for cancer by raising funds for pediatric brain cancer research and treatment in the New Orleans area.
