Our Story
Ashlee’s Homeless Fund was founded in 2020 by Christine Barry, a retired substance abuse and life skills counselor. The organization emerged from a fundraising campaign on NextDoor.com aimed at supplementing the Long Beach Police Department’s Quality of Life homelessness assistance squad. Named in honor of Officer Rich Armond’s daughter, Ashlee, who tragically passed away in 2014, AHF channels personal grief into action. The mission is to help the unhoused find emergency shelter, transitional housing, and long-term support, while also assisting them in navigating detox and rehab treatment.
