Our Story
Founded in 1982 by concerned citizens, the Arvada Community Food Bank began its journey in a small house, distributing food to hungry families. Today, it has evolved into the Community Table, one of the largest emergency food assistance providers in the metro Denver area. Serving communities such as Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Golden, and Thornton, the dedicated staff and hundreds of volunteers work tirelessly to support thousands of struggling families.
Our Impact
While providing food remains the core mission, the support extends far beyond. In 2014, a 'hand up' was added to the mission with programs that assist families in lifting themselves out of poverty. This includes emergency financial assistance, public benefits application help, and a client computer room. In 2019, shower services for the homeless were introduced, along with a FREE onsite health clinic. Recently, laundry and dental services, as well as cooking programs for budget-conscious families, have been added.
