Our Story

ArtUs Co began in 2005 in response to the growing need for affordable art studio spaces in Austin. Initially known as Shady Tree Studios, the organization evolved into the Pump Project, which provided opportunities for over 250 artists and hosted nearly 200 exhibitions in a 20,000-square-foot warehouse. As real estate prices surged, the mission to support artists became even more critical. In 2019, a partnership with The Arboretum led to the creation of a new creative hotspot, allowing local artists to showcase and sell their work. This transformation into ArtUs Co marked a new chapter, expanding from a pop-up shop to a permanent space dedicated to fostering artistic expression.
