Arts for Art is dedicated to the exceptional creativity rooted in African American multi-arts jazz culture. Founded in 1996 in New York City, this tax-exempt organization promotes and advances multicultural improvised creative arts. AFA preserves the legacy of FreeJazz while inspiring new generations of artists through year-round performance opportunities and educational initiatives in underserved communities.
Impact
Over its history, Arts for Art has presented 3,000 sets of music featuring approximately 1,750 musicians, ensuring fair compensation for artists and providing low-cost or free events to a growing audience.
