Arts Ed NJ, formerly known as The New Jersey Arts Education Partnership, was established in 2007 as a unified voice for arts education in New Jersey. With support from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and other key organizations, it became an independent nonprofit in 2015. The organization advocates for the belief that arts education is a fundamental right for every citizen, aiming to enhance the quality of arts education across schools and communities.
Since its inception, Arts Ed NJ has significantly increased access to arts education for over 75,000 students statewide. The organization has pioneered the use of interactive dashboards, allowing citizens to compare arts education data across schools. Collaborating with the New Jersey State Department of Education, it has successfully integrated arts education measures into School Performance Reports, making New Jersey the first state to do so.
