Our Story
Founded in 2013 by passionate friends Wilfredo Morel and Lee Balter, Arts 10566 emerged from a shared vision to enhance the lives of low and middle-income minority children through the transformative power of the arts. Recognizing the barriers faced by these communities, the founders leveraged their own experiences with art as a means of escape from poverty. Starting with just 20 children at the Garrison Arts Center, the program has flourished, now serving over 200 children aged 6 to 18 in Peekskill. This growth is a testament to the dedication of a caring network of local artists committed to fostering creativity and resilience in the face of social challenges.
