Our Story
The seeds for ArtMix were planted in 1980 when a local artist developed an adaptive community arts festival for people with disabilities. This initiative blossomed into a movement, leading to the establishment of 'Arts Unlimiting' in 1982, which later became 'Very Special Arts of Indiana'. In 2015, the organization rebranded as ArtMix, reflecting its commitment to creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity.
Impact
ArtMix has consistently offered innovative programs that have earned local and national recognition, including the prestigious National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award from the White House in 2015. This accolade highlights ArtMix as a national model for creative youth development.
