About ArtistYear

ArtistYear is a dedicated service organization that champions the belief that arts education is a fundamental right for all children, regardless of their economic background. Founded by Margo Drakos and Elizabeth Warshawer, this innovative program recruits and trains exceptional artists to serve as full-time AmeriCorps Resident Teaching Artists in Title I schools. Since its inception in 2016, ArtistYear has expanded its reach across eight regions in seven states, impacting the lives of thousands of students.

Impact of ArtistYear

With a commitment to delivering quality arts education, ArtistYear has placed 424 Resident Teaching Artists in over 188 Title I schools, reaching approximately 87,000 students and providing more than 533,100 hours of arts education.
