Strengthening Equitable Arts Education

Our Story

Art Resource Collaborative for Kids, known as ARCK, was founded by Sara Mraish Demeter, an immigrant mother who witnessed the devastating impact of losing arts education in her son’s school. As a refugee, Sara experienced the transformative power of the arts, which provided her with stability and healing in a new country. In 2011, she launched ARCK in a single classroom at Josiah Quincy Elementary School, and over the past decade, the initiative has expanded to engage nearly 7,000 students across Boston.

Our Impact

ARCK’s programs are designed to cultivate essential skills such as empathy, confidence, and critical thinking through creative expression. By training educators, ARCK ensures that these vital skills are instilled in students, preparing them to become leaders in social innovation.
