Founded in 2015 by Darius V. Daughtry, Art Prevails Project emerged from a passion for the transformative power of the arts. Recognizing the need for accessible artistic opportunities, Darius dedicated his efforts to uplift underserved communities through literary and performing arts. His journey as a teaching artist and creator of after-school programs inspired the establishment of this nonprofit, aiming to strengthen communities through creativity.
Since its inception, Art Prevails Project has made significant strides in South Florida, partnering with various organizations to bring creative arts to the community. With 20 original theater productions staged and workshops facilitated for over 1500 students, the project has provided vital platforms for hundreds of artists to showcase their talents.
