Art for Refugees in Transition was founded in 1999 by Sara Green in response to the turmoil in the Balkans. Since 2003, A.R.T. has worked in refugee camps, starting in Thailand, and has expanded its reach to various countries, focusing on rebuilding identities through indigenous art forms.
A.R.T. engages children and adults in visual, performing, and creative arts, preserving cultural traditions and fostering community identity among refugees. The organization has received UNESCO accreditation for its effective programs.
