Our Story

The Art Deco Society of New York, established in 1982, is dedicated to fostering public appreciation and understanding of Art Deco artistic expression. This vibrant organization highlights the significance of Art Deco architecture, crafts, and decorative arts from the 1920s and 30s through engaging tours, exhibits, publications, and community events.

Impact

ADSNY has been instrumental in securing landmark status for vital Art Deco buildings in New York City, such as the iconic Waldorf Astoria hotel. The organization has also received accolades, including the Grassroots Preservation Award for its efforts in protecting the Coney Island Pumping Station. During the Covid pandemic, ADSNY successfully reached a global audience with fifty online programs focused on Art Deco architecture and design.
