The Arques School of Traditional Boatbuilding, founded by Donlon Arques in 1996, is dedicated to preserving the art of wooden boatbuilding. Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, the school trains craftsmen in traditional methods, ensuring the legacy of this vital maritime craft continues.

Impact

Through its efforts, the Arques School has successfully restored and built several historically significant wooden boats, including the historic gillnet boat and the Freda, the oldest sailing yacht on the West Coast.
