Our Story
The Arkansas Local Food Network, originally founded as the Arkansas Sustainability Network in 2006, has been a beacon for sustainable community development. The journey began with a simple online farmer’s market in 2007, aimed at supporting local farm families like Sue and Rusty Nuffer of Armstead Mountain Farms. This initiative quickly blossomed into a cooperative purchasing effort that now connects 15 to 20 local farms and businesses each week, fostering a vibrant local food ecosystem.
Impact
Over the past 15 years, the Arkansas Local Food Network has successfully bridged the gap between local farms and consumers, significantly boosting the local economy and promoting sustainable food practices.
