Our Story

Arena Dinner Theatre was established in January 1974 in response to budget cuts affecting the Fort Wayne Parks Department. Originally known as Fort Wayne Theatre Workshop, it became the only theatre in the city performing regularly in the round. After funding was eliminated, dedicated board members sought a new location and funding to continue operations as a separate nonprofit entity. The theatre opened in the Anthony Wayne Ballroom, where it thrived for ten years before moving multiple times. In 1995, it found a permanent home in the historic West Central Neighborhood, providing acting, directing, management, and production opportunities for both professional and amateur theatre enthusiasts.

Impact

Arena Dinner Theatre has successfully maintained its operations as the only full-time dinner theatre in Fort Wayne, enriching the community's cultural landscape.
