Area Congregations Together in Service

Our Story

In the fall of 2003, five Richmond area churches united to address the urgent needs of families on the brink of homelessness. This collaboration led to the formation of Area Congregations Together in Service (ACTS), an initiative designed to streamline resources and provide essential support. Since opening its doors to clients in August 2006, ACTS has expanded its reach, now supported by over 60 interfaith partners dedicated to preventing homelessness through financial assistance and case management.

Impact

Last year, ACTS provided over $1 million in financial assistance, helping hundreds of individuals and families in the Greater Richmond area maintain housing stability and avoid homelessness.
