Our Story

In 1961, a dedicated group of parents united to support one another in raising children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). At that time, resources were scarce, and the need for advocacy was urgent. The Arc of Northwest Wayne County has tirelessly worked to change this landscape, advocating for educational rights and creating vital social and recreational programs for individuals with I/DD.

With over 6,000 community connections, The Arc NW empowers individuals to lead self-determined lives, ensuring they are valued members of their communities.
