Our Story

The Arboretum Park Conservancy (APC) was established in the 1990s to protect and promote the Bussey Brook Meadow, a significant urban wild area in Boston. Legally spun off by the Boston Natural Areas Network, APC has worked tirelessly to ensure the meadow's preservation and public access, including the construction of the Blackwell Path.

Impact

APC successfully incorporated the Bussey Brook Meadow into the Arnold Arboretum Indenture, safeguarding it from development and facilitating ecological research. Community engagement through volunteer clean-up events and educational initiatives has significantly improved the area's biodiversity and accessibility.
