Our Story

Founded in 1979 by Dr. Haifa Fakhouri, the Arab American and Chaldean Council began as a one-person office in Detroit, dedicated to serving the Middle Eastern refugee and immigrant population. Over the years, ACC has evolved into a vital resource, assisting over 90,000 clients annually with a wide range of services including healthcare, employment training, and community outreach.

Impact

ACC has empowered over one million community members since its inception, providing essential services that ensure safety, health, and dignity. With more than 450,000 services delivered each year, the organization significantly impacts the lives of vulnerable populations in Southeastern Michigan.
