Founded in 1990 by passionate local residents, Aquidneck Land Trust (ALT) was established to combat the rapid pace of real estate development threatening the natural beauty of Aquidneck Island. With a dedicated team of staff, trustees, and volunteers, ALT has successfully conserved over 2,575 acres of open space, representing more than 10% of the island. The organization continues to grow, with a membership exceeding 1,100 constituents, all united in the mission to protect vital landscapes for future generations.
