After being diagnosed at just 15, the founder recognized the lack of educational materials and community support available for those affected by lupus. This inspired the creation of a dedicated organization focused on raising awareness and providing essential resources to underserved communities.
Since its inception, Applecake’s Lupus Organization has made significant strides in raising awareness and funds for lupus education. The inaugural lupus walk in 2018 attracted 250 participants, and participation has doubled in subsequent years. The organization has also successfully raised $1,000 for The Lupus Organization of America, demonstrating its commitment to the lupus community.
