Our Story

Apple Country Radio began with a vision from Brookfield’s A.P.P.L.E. Seed, Inc., a community-based volunteer-run organization. In 2013, when the FCC opened a window for low power FM community radio station licenses, the Board of Directors recognized the potential of a local noncommercial radio station to unite the community through communication. WACF started broadcasting in early 2017 from donated space and evolved into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in late 2019 after transferring its FCC license. The organization serves the greater Brookfield area by promoting community identity, showcasing local arts and culture, and providing vital information.
