Our Story

The Apparent Project was founded in 2009 by Shelley and her husband, who moved to Haiti to work as house parents at an orphanage. They discovered that many children had parents who loved them but could not afford to feed them. This realization led to the creation of the Apparent Project, which aims to empower Haitian families through job skills training, childcare, and early education.

Impact

Since its inception, the Apparent Project has made a significant impact by providing job skills training, childcare, and education to families in Haiti. Nearly 250 artisans and their families have risen out of poverty and stayed together, nurturing children and empowering parents to become self-sufficient.
