Our Story

The Appalachian Fiddle and Bluegrass Association was established in October 1973 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, to preserve and promote bluegrass music. Founded by Louie Setzer, Larry Setzer, and Andy Tomsic, the AFBA has played a vital role in sponsoring bluegrass festivals and monthly jams, creating a vibrant community around this cherished musical genre.

Our Impact

With over 500 active members, the AFBA has successfully organized numerous festivals and events, providing a platform for musicians and fostering a community of bluegrass enthusiasts. The association proudly owns Mountain View Park, which serves as a venue for these events.
