Our Story
Founded on January 1, 2006, Apostolic Restoration Ministry began with just 25 members in the home of Bishop and Lady Darlean Porter. Within nine months, the ministry witnessed the salvation of 10 souls and numerous baptisms. The congregation was blessed with a new church home in South Jackson, located at 2801 Oak Forest Drive, where they thrived for three years. During this time, the church developed a robust community of Sunday School teachers, deacons, ushers, singers, ministers, praise dancers, musicians, and technical staff.
In December 2007, Pastor Porter initiated a prison ministry, offering Bible classes every Tuesday and Thursday. By July 2009, the ministry was able to purchase its current facility, an expansive property with an 800β850 seat sanctuary and a gymnasium. Despite facing a significant challenge when the church was set on fire in October 2008, the congregation's resilience and faith led them to acquire their current facility at a fraction of its appraised value.
