Our Story
Ape Action Africa, originally established as Cameroon Wildlife Aid Fund in 1996, has evolved into a leading force for primate conservation in Cameroon. Initially focused on improving conditions for primates at Mvog Betsi Zoo, the organization has expanded its mission to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned primates affected by illegal bushmeat and pet trades. In 2009, the rebranding to Ape Action Africa highlighted its commitment to protecting great apes and working with local communities to safeguard their natural heritage.
