Founded in 1971 by four compassionate women, ACBC Food Shelf began in a basement, packing bags of food for those in need. Over the years, it has transformed into a vital community resource, offering a client-choice model that respects the dignity of individuals seeking assistance. Today, ACBC operates from a larger facility, providing a welcoming environment for in-person shopping and a variety of programs aimed at combating food insecurity.

In 2023, ACBC Food Shelf witnessed record-breaking demand for food assistance, underscoring the critical need for its services. Innovative programs like the Senior CSFP Program and Grocery Delivery Program have been implemented to support vulnerable populations, including seniors and homebound individuals.
