About Animal Welfare Association
Founded in 1948, the Animal Welfare Association (AWA) began as a group of dedicated volunteers committed to rescuing homeless animals in Camden County and surrounding areas. Over the years, AWA has evolved into a leading organization in animal welfare, opening South Jersey's first Spay/Neuter Clinic in 1974 and adopting a strong 'No-Kill' philosophy by 2009. Today, AWA provides essential services such as adoptions, veterinary care, pet therapy, and humane education, ensuring that every animal has the chance for a loving home.
Impact of AWA
In 2023, AWA achieved an impressive 96% save rate, facilitating 2,162 adoptions and providing nearly 2,000 low-cost spay/neuter surgeries. Additionally, over 9,000 vaccines and affordable wellness exams were provided to more than 3,300 pets, showcasing AWA's commitment to animal health and welfare.

Your donations to AWA support life-saving programs, including medical care for animals in need, low-cost veterinary services, and community outreach initiatives. Every contribution ensures that no healthy or adoptable animal is euthanized due to space or treatable conditions.
