Our Story

The Animal Shelter of Sullivan County was established in late 2018 as a 501c(3) nonprofit organization after the Sullivan County Commission withdrew from a previous organization. This shelter is dedicated to increasing awareness about the humane treatment of animals through responsible sheltering, education, spay/neuter assistance, and access to wellness. As a no-kill facility, it has made significant improvements in operations and facilities, including the establishment of an in-house spay/neuter clinic and various community outreach programs.

Our Impact

Since its inception, the Animal Shelter of Sullivan County has successfully implemented a Community Cat program, reduced the length of stay for animals, and conducted monthly vaccine clinics serving nearly 100 animals each month. These initiatives ensure better health and well-being for the animals in its care.
