Founded in 2004, Angels for Sight opened its first vision clinic in Compton, California, in 2007. Since then, the organization has dedicated itself to serving thousands of children, families, seniors, and veterans by offering free vision screenings, eye examinations, and glasses. In 2025, a new state-of-the-art clinic will open in Long Beach, expanding access to vital eye care for underserved populations across Los Angeles County.
Angels for Sight's mission is to provide preventive vision care services to the uninsured and underserved in Los Angeles County. Vision problems disproportionately affect minority populations, with one in four children unable to see well enough to read. This lack of access to eye care perpetuates cycles of poverty, crime, and illiteracy.
