Angelitos Sanctuario

Our Story

Angelitos Sanctuario began when humanitarian Amy Gigi Alexander found an abandoned street puppy named Osito in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Since then, over 700 dogs have been rescued from her two-bedroom apartment during COVID, and hundreds more have found refuge in their current rented property. Today, more than 100 dogs, many disabled or unadoptable, call Angelitos home.

Impact

In just four years, Angelitos Sanctuario has saved over 2,000 dogs, providing sanctuary, rehabilitation, and adoption services. As the only sanctuary in the region offering permanent homes for unadoptable animals, they ensure 24-hour veterinary care is available onsite.
