About the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall

The Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall, affectionately known as the Carnegie Carnegie, has been a cornerstone of the Carnegie community since 1901. Built as a legacy gift from Andrew Carnegie, this historic library is one of only five funded by him. After overcoming financial challenges in the 1980s, the community united to restore this cherished landmark, ensuring it remains a vibrant hub for learning and cultural events.

Impact on the Community

Today, the Carnegie Carnegie stands as a testament to community resilience, offering a library, theater, and historic site that fosters lifelong learning. With a stable funding source secured through a 20-year contract with Carnegie Borough, the library continues to adapt and expand its services to meet the needs of its residents.
