Our Story

The Amos Butler Audubon Society, established in 1938, is dedicated to fostering a love for birds and nature in Central Indiana. Named after the esteemed naturalist Amos W. Butler, this organization engages the community through conservation efforts and educational programs.

Our Impact

Since 1987, the Amos Butler Audubon Society has raised over $500,000 through its annual Birdathon event, funding vital conservation and education projects. The organization has been instrumental in preserving critical bird habitats, including Indiana's largest Great Blue Heron rookery.
