America’s Urban Campus (AUC) was established in 2016, evolving from a collaboration among Chicago’s not-for-profit colleges and universities that began in 2011. AUC aims to enhance Chicago's image as a global destination for higher education while improving the lives of its citizens through the collective strengths of its member institutions, representing 200,000 students.
AUC has significantly contributed to a $3.3 billion investment in new facilities construction from 2014 to 2019, supporting various programs that benefit local neighborhoods and the broader community.
