Our Story

The mission of Americares Free Clinics is to provide quality health care to low-income, uninsured patients in a setting where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. Founded by Bob Macauley in 1994, the first clinic was established to expand access to care for the working poor. Today, Americares operates four clinics in Bridgeport, Danbury, Norwalk, and Stamford, serving nearly 2,000 patients annually.

Impact

Over the years, 28,000 of our neighbors in need have received free health care services valued at $165 million from our clinics and community partners. The clinics provide care for chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, as well as treatment for minor injuries and sudden illnesses.

Why Donate?

Supported by local philanthropy, Americares Free Clinics exemplify a community coming together to help patients in need. Donations help provide essential prescription medications at little or no charge through Patient Assistance Programs and partnerships with local pharmacies.
