The American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation, originally founded in 1946 as the Speech Correction Research Foundation by Wendell Johnson, has a rich history of supporting groundbreaking research in communication sciences and disorders. Under the leadership of Frank R. Kleffner, the foundation revitalized its mission and established formal giving programs, leading to significant growth in assets and impact.
