Our Story
Imagine 1927, a group of dedicated doctors huddled at a public health meeting, their vision clear: healthy kids thriving in schools. This gathering led to the formation of the American Association of School Physicians, the proud ancestor of the American School Health Association (ASHA). Recognizing that it wasn't just doctors who cared, counselors, nutritionists, and physical education teachers joined the movement. By 1936, ASHA opened its doors to everyone passionate about student well-being, officially changing its name to the American School Health Association. Today, ASHA is a vibrant community of experts from diverse backgrounds, united by a singular mission: to empower kids to thrive in healthy, supportive school environments.
