Our Story

The American Museum of Magic was founded in 1978 by journalist Robert Lund and his wife, Elaine. What began as a private collection of magician archives has grown into one of the largest collections of magic artifacts in the world. After Robert's passing in 1995, Elaine ensured the collection remained publicly accessible by incorporating it and obtaining 501(c)(3) status. In 1998, she purchased a building to house the collection, which was transferred to the nonprofit museum upon her death in 2006.

Impact

The American Museum of Magic preserves and shares the history of magic, ensuring future generations can enjoy its vast collection of artifacts and knowledge.
