Empowering Girls in Kenya
ZanaAfrica was founded in 2007 by Megan White Mukuria, who recognized the challenges faced by Kenyan girls regarding menstrual health. With 65% of girls unable to access sanitary pads, ZanaAfrica was established to provide essential supplies and education. Since its inception, ZanaAfrica has positively impacted over 250,000 girls by offering sanitary pads, underwear, and rights-based reproductive health education.
Impact Through Research and Experience
Driven by research and the voices of those served, ZanaAfrica collaborates with esteemed partners like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This approach ensures that programs are effective and tailored to the needs of girls in Kenya, enhancing their education, health, and psychosocial well-being.
