Our Story
The American Fondouk was founded in 1927 by Amy Bend Bishop, who was inspired by the dire conditions faced by working animals in Fez, Morocco. With an initial donation of $8,000, she established a refuge that has evolved into a full-service animal hospital, treating thousands of animals each year.
Impact
By providing free veterinary care, the American Fondouk significantly improves the health of working animals, which in turn enhances the livelihoods of the families that depend on them. The organization is dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of the local animal population.
