Our Story

Founded by Marla Fitzwater in 1988, the American Caribbean Experience Inc (ACE) began as a mission to coordinate short-term volunteer efforts in Jamaica. Over the years, it became clear that while volunteers were deeply impacted by their experiences, the local communities were not seeing lasting change. Recognizing the critical need for sustainable development, ACE shifted its focus to address the root causes of poverty through education, healthcare, enterprise, and discipleship.
