Our Story

Founded in 1973 by Prof. Roger Lawrence and Lucille Caron Legasse, the American-Canadian Genealogical Society of NH Inc is dedicated to preserving the rich genealogical history of Canadian immigrants to New England. Initially established as the first genealogical society focusing on this ancestry, ACGS has grown to become the largest of its kind. After several relocations, the Society now resides at 1 Sundial Avenue, Manchester, NH, continuing its mission to serve as a vital resource center for genealogical and historical information.

Impact

Through genealogical research, many individuals have reconnected with their roots, bridging the gaps left by their ancestors who immigrated from Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Ontario. This reconnection fosters a sense of belonging and heritage among families.
