Our Story

The American Bach Soloists, founded in 1989, are dedicated to introducing contemporary audiences to the cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach through Historically Informed Performance Practice. Under the expert leadership of co-founder and Music Director Jeffrey Thomas, the ensemble has gathered the world’s finest vocalists and period-instrument performers to bring this extraordinary music to life. The organization has expanded its artistic direction to include Bach’s instrumental and larger choral masterpieces, as well as works from his contemporaries and the early Classical era.
